Researchers at Glasgow University have built a robot which uses artificial intelligence( AI) to detected new molecules.

The machine is learning to create chemical reactions that could lead to new medications and materials.

It works initially with a human chemist to find promising new types of molecules.

Then artificial intelligence takes over and the robot situateds off to fabricate on its own.

“It’s a bit like a robotic bartender that mixes cocktails, ” says Glasgow’s Regius Professor of Chemistry Lee Cronin.
